By Cary Snyder Herald Staff Writer Residents in the West Hill area of Brookfield have needed sanitary sewers for 20 years. The latest plans to install them gained momentum last week, but West Hill residents shouldn't expect to see construction in the near future. Trumbull County Commissioners last week unanimously approved design drawings for the project, and county sanitary engineer Thomas Holloway said the next step will be to hold a public meeting so funding can be discussed. Holloway said the county has received a grant from the Ohio Public Works Administration and a Community Development Block Grant, but property owners also will be asked to chip in on the tab. "Twenty years ago the people on this hill were in better position to pay than we are now," said Rose Marie Sankey, a resident of Warren-Sharon Road for 41 years. "It's going to be a hardship." |
