HERMITAGE -- FNB Corp. said the company will begin trading its common shares on the New York Stock Exchange today under the ticker symbol: FNB. The company formerly was listed on The Nasdaq Stock Market under the symbol: FBAN. FNB owns and operates community banks, insurance agencies, a consumer finance company and First National Trust Co. In July the diversified financial holding company said it would split the corporation into two separate publicly traded companies, by a tax-free spin-off to shareholders of its Florida operations through a newly formed company to be named First National Bankshares of Florida, Inc. It is anticipated that the spin-off will be completed in January. |
