Zoning petitioner asks city to take 'fresh view' of plans

Igor Pyatetsky is hoping the Hermitage commissioners will not simply rubber stamp a recommendation from two planning boards to deny his request for a zoning change.

Pyatetsky is asking that 1.2 acres he owns that front Valley View and North Hermitage roads be changed from a single-family residential zone to a residential/office zone.

The Hermitage and Mercer County Regional planning commissions recommended the commissioners deny the request.

Pyatetsky has his home and office at 1795 Valley View, and he wants to move his business, Hermitage Muscle Therapy, next door to the parcel he is requesting be rezoned, said his attorney Douglas Watson.

The residential/office zone has been used as a buffer between residential and commercial zones, Watson said. "That's really what we're asking you to do here," he said.

The parcel is bordered by a single-family residential zone to the north and east, a highway commercial zone to the west and south, and a small section of residential/office zone to the southeast.
