By Amanda Smith-Teutsch Herald Staff Writer By Amanda Smith-Teutsch Herald Staff Writer A Brookfield man has been accused of killing 29-year-old Charles Palm of Greenville. Craig Ryan Kroner, 22, of 1392 Warner Road, was arraigned Friday on a charge of aggravated murder before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay. Palm's body was found near a gravel parking lot in a hunting area in Vernon Township, Ohio, on Oct. 10. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds. On Oct. 24 a grand jury indicted Kroner of tampering with evidence. The murder charge was added to the indictment after county Prosecutor Chris Becker presented more evidence to the grand jury last week. If convicted, Kroner could face a life sentence and would be eligible for parole after 20 years, Becker said. He added that the charge carries a firearms specification, which adds an additional 3 years onto the sentence. Kroner also has been charged with tampering with evidence, which could carry an extra 1 to 5 years before he would be eligible for parole. If Kroner were to serve the minimum on each of the charges, he would be eligible for parole after 24 years, Becker said. |
