Instead of decking the halls with boughs of holly, new stores are decking the outlet mall in Springfield Township.

Five new stores and four new kiosk businesses are part of the shopping attractions at Prime Outlets of Grove City this holiday season. Businesses include American Eagle, Borders, an Italian shoe store, a musical fudgery and a winery outlet vending North East, Pa. wines.

"We really like to add new flavor especially for the local community," said mall marketing manager Michele Czerwinski. "We try to bring in the hottest concepts that people are looking for, to get in something that's fresh and exciting."

With 532,705 square feet of leased retail space, the mall offers more than 140 places to shop and buy those last-minute presents for loved ones and gift exchanges.

Edible gifts can be had for a song at The Fudgery, which is in the 800 block of the mall. Employees put on an act they call a "fudge show" where they ring a bell and draw people into the store to watch them make the chocolate treat from scratch as they sing and dance.

"Our store is a performance store. We make all the fudge right in front of the customers so they can see the fudge they are going to buy. We sing, dance, tell jokes, it's almost something you'd see at a circus," said The Fudgery assistant manager Anna Mannozzi. They sell 17 different flavors of fudge, including chocolate caramel nut, New Orleans praline and cookies and cream, as well as offering Edie's ice cream, and homemade caramel and candy apples.
