Details sketchy
on armed
robbery

A would-be Grinch attempted Christmas Eve to rob a drugstore of a little more than holiday cheer.

According to a Mercer County 911 supervisor, a call came in about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday from Cressler's Drug Store, 3289 S. Main St., Sandy Lake.

A bearded white man wearing glasses, light-colored blue jeans, a baseball cap and a two-tone blue nylon jacket robbed the pharmacy at gunpoint.

The suspect got away in a small red car headed west on state Route 358 toward Greenville.

State police at Mercer confirmed the suspect was caught some time later, but could provide no further information.

Sandy Lake police and the drugstore owner could not be reached due to the holiday.
