Area residents can sign condolence book
This week, people by the thousands have been signing condolence books as a tribute to the late Princess Diana.
Mourners have waited as long as 12 hours to sign the registry in St. James Palace in London. Others have been lining up at British embassies and consulates around the world. The books will be given to Diana's children, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Area residents who would like to add their names to a condolence book may do so:
- At the home of Valerie Grandy, 550 E. Butler St., Mercer.
Mrs. Grandy, whose mother emigrated from England, said she wanted to give local people a way to express their sympathies to the young princes.
``I can't imagine those two boys growing up without a mother,'' she said.
- At the Grove City Library, provided by Ficca Funeral Home, Grove City
- Also by mailing messages of sympathy and memorial tributes to Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, Kensington Palace, London, England W84PU.
