GROVE CITY

Bicentennial celebration salutes famous sons and daughters

Singer/actress Edie Adams and movie producer Marvin Baker Jr. are among the 18 people with Grove City ties who are returning for a weekend of special events as part of the borough’s bicentennial celebration.

The guests will participate in what is billed as the borough’s biggest parade in 200 years, from 2 to 5 p.m., and then be honored at a gala reception immediately afterward at the Grove City Country Club.

David Simmons, who is known to professional wrestling fans as Gigolo Jimmy Delrey, will deliver an anti-drug talk and sign autographs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at United Community Hospital. Ms. Adams the widow of entertainer Ernie Kovacs, will sign books at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grove City Community Library.

Bryon Moore, animator for “Beavis and Butt-head” and the Bernstein Bears, will hold an autograph session at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glass Studio.

Advance tickets for the reception are available at the Grove City Chamber of Commerce.
