Listen up, the cicadas are coming to Metroparks
Cleveland Metroparks welcomes the emergence of cicadas with a Cicada Invasion festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5 at the Shelterhouse Picnic Area, South Chagrin Reservation, Bentleyville, Ohio.
The festival will feature games and crafts for kids, silk screening and displays. Foster Brown performs songs and stories at 11 a.m. and Kevin Richards offers bug tunes at noon.
Naturalists will lead hikes into cicada country at 2 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to bring cicada shells to the festival. Prizes will be awarded for the big-gest and most, among other categories.
