Car dealer’s condition is critical


The owner of Joe Pantone Auto Sales Inc. injured in two-car accident Aug. 11 was listed in critical condition Fri-day at Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said. Joseph Pantone, 30, of 3260 Roseview Drive, Hubbard Township, was transferred to the Cleveland hospital Wednesday from St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown,.

Pantone was northbound on Interstate 680 in Boardman Township, Mahoning County, when a car traveling in the wrong direction smashed head-on into his, Ohio High-way Patrol said. Robert N. Griffin, 42, of North Lima, Ohio, the driver of the second car, died at the scene, police said. His blood-alcohol level was 0.271, more than twice the legal limit of 0.10, police said.
