FARRELL

Suspect in fatal shooting surrenders

The Farrell man charged with shooting two men, one fatally, on Friday turned himself in at 8:45 a.m. today, said Southwest Mercer County Regional Police.

Andre Campbell, 24, of 1033 Wallis Ave., was charged with homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly firing the shots that killed Wallace Amos, 20, of 1015 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, and injured Lawrence Ali, 21, of 149 Second St., Sharon, police said.

Amos, who was shot once in the chest, died at 6 a.m. Saturday at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, police said. Mercer County Coroner J. Bradley McGonigle III said this morning he is waiting for autopsy test results to come back before making a ruling on the death.

Ali was released Sunday from the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was shot once in the hip.

Police Chief Joseph Timko said police have not been able to determine what brought on the shooting. Campbell appeared this morning with an attorney, Kevin Feeney, and did not make a statement, Timko said.

Police received the call of the shooting at 10:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of Wallis Avenue, Farrell.
