Multi-service center Januaryevents planned
During renovations, Shenango Valley Multi-Service Center, 1020 Spearman Ave., will meet in Wheatland Farrell United Methodist Church, Mercer Avenue, Wheatland. January activities include:
Jan. 4 — 9:30 to 11 a.m., blood sugar screening by Lori; 11 a.m., center council meeting.
Jan. 6 — 10 a.m., pizza sale.
Jan. 10 — 9:30, eye glasses cleaned and minor repairs.
Jan. 11 — 9:30 to 11 a.m. blood pressure screenings.
Jan. 13 — 10:45 a.m., consumer scam update by Nancy Loughry of Mercer County Community Action Agency.
Jan. 17 — center closed for Martin Luther King Day.
Jan. 18 — 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings.
Jan. 20 — 10:45 a.m., January Birthday and Anniversary party.
Jan. 25 — 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings.
Jan. 30 — noon, choral group practice.
Everyday at 9 a.m. a different type of puzzle is available. Daily activities are:
Monday — 9:30 a.m., Plato game; 9:30 a.m. music therapy with Judy Christ.
Tuesday — 9 a.m., Trotter’s game — Discussion Group.
Wednesday — 9:30 a.m., crafts; 9:30 a.m., Plato game; 10:30 a.m., Tai Chi with Nick Gracecin.
Thursday — 9:30 a.m., crafts; 9:30 a.m. Lucky game.
Friday — 9:30 a.m. Plato game.
Upcoming events include Feb. 1, blood sugar screening; Feb. 9, cholesterol screening and Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day party Information on other activities: 346-4712, or 346-1459.
The center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is served weekdays at 11:30 a.m.
