College Club to laud members, past presidents, hear crime writer/prof
College Club of Sharon will honor its 50-year members and past presidents at a luncheon at noon Jan. 8 in First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon.
James Fisher, an Edinboro University criminal justice professor and resident of New Wilmington, will discuss his new book. “A Crimson Stain” deals with an Amish murder that recently occurred in Crawford County.
After earning degrees from Westminster College, New Wilmington; and Vanderbilt University Law School, Nashville, Tenn., he worked for six years an an FBI special agent.
During his Edinboro tenure, he has written a college textbook, two books on the Lindbergh kidnapping and a book called “Fall Guys: False Confessions and the Politics of Murder.”
He has appeared as a criminal justice expert on television programs including Inside Edition, Current Affair, Geraldo, 48 Hours and NBC Dateline.
Fisher has been investigating false literary agents, book doctors and the vanity publishers. The research resulted in the publication of “The Fisher Report,” which has been circulated among aspiring writers in the United States and abroad.
