HARRISBURG (AP) –
Pennsylvania state agencies
are offering expanded public
access to birth and death
records under a law enacted
in December.
The Pennsylvania Histori-
cal and Museum Commis-
sion and the Department of
Health said Tuesday new
policies took effect this week
that provide access online or
at the state archives in Har-
risburg.
The new policy makes
birth certificates available
105 years after they’re is-
sued, and death certificates
50 years after they’re signed.
As of Wednesday, births
from 1906 and deaths from
1906 to 1961 will be made
public. Before 1906, they’re
kept by counties. The plan is
to make additional years
available on a rolling basis.
Researchers should know
the spelling of the name, the
year of the death or birth,
and the county
ble searches ar
oped.

The numbers are in and
the outlook for 2012 is
“rosy!”
With four offices located
in Meadville,
Conneaut
Lake, Greenville and Mer-
cer, Coldwell Banker Bain-
bridge Kaufman Real Es-
tate found that
they
experienced strong growth
in real estate sales in
2011.
According to Terry
Wygle, broker, “In the two
north offices our numbers
were up 11.5 percent (per
the Meadville MLS).
In
the Greenville office we
were up a whopping 58
percent over 2010 (per the
West Penn
MLS).”
In the
Mercer of-
fice (our
newest
July 2011) we just recently
brought on three new real
estate agents so there is
expected growth predicted
in the future.
Another measure of the
changing economy: in 2010
we had 10 million or mul-
ti-million dollar producers.
In 2011 we ended up with
17!
Last, we are starting to
see multiple contracts on
many of our listings. This
is always a good sign for
sellers and to be honest;
with the interest rates so
low, buyers are still in a
good position.

pride in being forward-
