big jobs even though we

All Secure
is a minority
owned busi-
ness that
f a b r i c a t e s
products for
safety, security and beauty.
We have made many eld-
erly residents happy by fabri-
cating custom railing for
their stairs making life easi-
er. We have made many res-
idents more comfortable by
securing their homes after
they were burglarized. Cus-
tom window bars were fabri-
cated and installed or a cus-
tom iron door installed.
Several business owners
are pleased with the new
look at their establishment
because of the ironwork,
such as Charlie Staples Bar-
B-Que in Youngstown as
well as Jimmy’s Italian Food
in Liberty, Ohio. Gates and
window bars beautify the
Gold Mind in downtown
Sharon.

The working farm pro-
vides a setting for education-
al programming aimed at
helping people to understand
where and how their food is
grown and how agriculture
and the environment inter-
act. It’s done through hands-
on programs at the farm.
2011 was a productive
year for us. First, our educa-
tional programming was rein-
vigorated by talented and en-
thusiastic new educators.
Programs for all ages, pre-
school to adult, began in late
spring.
Secondly, accessibility to
the farm was improved with
a new access road, improve-
ments to the existing lane,
new culverts at Munnell
Run, a wheelchair-accessible
trail and landscaping at the
Bigler House Farmstead.
State grants from the Depart-
ment of Con-
s e r v a t i o n
and Natural
Re s o u r c e s
along with
the Dirt and
Gravel Roads program provid-
ed the funding.
The Regional Food Ven-
ture project advanced in
2011. The Shared Commer-
cial Kitchen Incubator will be
in a building used by the for-
mer county home and hospi-
tal. The project will letthe
farm community add value to
fruits and vegetables, extend
their income production to
12 months, and make use of
produce that wouldn’t be
sold as fresh.
Startup caterers, chefs,
and other food service peo-
ple can use of the licensed
kitchen as well. The Small
Business Development Cen-
ter at Gannon University
completed a feasibility study
and operational planning.
