Chestnut Shrimp Bacon Wraps

4 strips of premium bacon

8 large-medium cocktail shrimp, raw, washed and deveined

8 pieces of sliced water chestnuts

1/4 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce


1. Cut bacon strips in half, use kitchen shears, do not stretch the bacon.

2. Wrap 1 slice of water chestnut and 1 shrimp in bacon. Secure with a toothpick, inserted in the end of the bacon like a straight pin.

3. Bake in a 350 preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until shrimp is firm.

4. Drain off bacon fat and brush with barbecue sauce. Return to oven for 10 minutes. This appetizer also may be grilled. Makes 8 appetizers.
