Fresh Apple Pie Cake

3 medium apples, (2 cups) finely chopped

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 egg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup raisins

1/2 cup nuts

1 stick oleo


1. Place apples and sugar in bowl, let stand 15 minutes, stir in flour, soda, salt and spices. Blend in egg and oleo. Add raisins and nuts. Mix well.

2. Put into a 9-by-9-inch greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes.

3. Double the recipe for a bundt pan. Cover while warm to keep moist. May be topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
