Half Moons 1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
9 egg yolks
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1. In bowl, beat butter and sugar for 5 minute. Add and beat egg yolks.
2. Fold in flour, baking powder, lemon rind and vanilla.
3. Fold in 9 eggwhites, stiffly beaten.
4. Pour into a greased and floured 11-by-16-by-2-inch or 12-by-18-by-2-inch pan. Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped walnuts.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
6. Cut into crescents, shape with water glass or crescent cutter.
