Peach Cobbler

1 cup flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup milk

1/3 cup sugar

6 tablespoons butter

6 peach halves or 1 (16 ounces) bag frozen

1 teaspoon baking powder





Syrup:

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup water

1/4 teaspoon vanilla


1. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cut in butter. Add milk and turn on to lightly floured board. Knead lightly.

2. Place peaches in 8-by-8-inch casserole dish, sprinkle lightly with sugar. Place spoonfuls of dough over top of fruit. Sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes.

3. For syrup, boil sugar and water. Add vanilla. When cobbler has baked 20 minutes pour syrup evenly over top and bake for 10 more minutes.

4. Serve with cream hot or cold. This can be made with variety of fruits fresh or frozen.
