Richard E. Clepper Retired businessman, vet, Mason had daughter here KITTANNING, Pa. -- Richard E. Clepper, Cowansville, Pa., died early Monday morning, Oct. 28, 2002, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Clepper was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Wattersonville, Pa., a son of Edwin G. Clepper and Mary E. Andrews Clepper. He was owner and operator for 50 years of W.E. & R.E. Clepper School Transportation, retiring in 1987. He was also employed as a security guard for 10 years at Crompton Chemical, Petrolia, Pa. A Marine veteran, Mr. Clepper served during World War II. He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Kittanning; and was a former member of Scottish Rite New Castle Consistory; and Free and Accepted Masons Seneca Lodge 805 in Kittanning, where he was a past worshipful master. Mr. Clepper enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. His wife, the former Edna M. Kaufman, whom he married March 19, 1951, survives at home. Also surviving are: a son, Richard A. Clepper, Cowansville; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Rosemary) Schrecengost, Frewsburg, N.Y.; Mrs. James (Betty) Evans, Clark; and Barbara E. Clepper, Kittanning; five granddaughters, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William E. Clepper, Pennsylvania; and Glenn Clepper, Tampa.; and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Louise) Dietz, Ford City, Pa. Mr. Clepper was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" L. Arbaugh. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
CLEPPER Richard A. Goheen SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Richard A. Goheen, San Jose, Calif., died at 10:44 p.m. Saturday (10-26-02) from injuries sustained in an automobile crash in San Jose. He was 31. Obituary information was incomplete.
GOHEEN Paula Marie Wall '81 FHS grad, medical aide belonged to Sharon church GREENVILLE -- Paula Marie Wall of 3155 N. Center Road, Linesville, the Espyville community, died of natural causes at 10:50 a.m. Sunday (10-27-02) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 39. Miss Wall was born April 29, 1963, in Greenville. Paula was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon, and was a 1981 graduate of Farrell High School. She also graduated from Shenango Campus of Pennsylvania State University in Sharon; and Sharon Regional Hospital School of Nursing. Miss Wall later became a medical assistant, graduating from the Shenango Valley Business Institute in Sharon. She was a member of West Salem Grange. She is survived by: her mother and stepfather, Donna J. Wall Robb and Dr. James D. Robb, Ashtabula, Ohio, formerly of Sharon; Paula's longtime companion and fiance, Robert "Butch" Crist, Espyville; one brother, Wayne Eakin, Butler; one stepsister, Desiree Atwell, Sharon; her paternal grandmother, Violet Eakin, Greenville; and her maternal grandfather, George Herrick, also Greenville. Paula was preceded in death by a stepsister, Darla J. Beaty; her paternal grandfather, Wayne Eakin Sr.; and her maternal grandmother, Emma Herrick.
WALL Patricia A. Shaffer Ex-local woman worked at motor club, Whitmer-Smith READING, Pa. -- A funeral Mass will be held Friday for Patricia A. Shaffer, 520 Edison Court, Reading, formerly of Hermitage. She died of natural causes at 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was 79. Mrs. Shaffer was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Sharon to Frank Christiansen and Catherine McNamara Christiansen. A 1941 graduate of Sharon High School, she was a clerk at Mercer County Motor Club. She also worked at American Red Cross and at the former Whitmer-Smith's clothing store in downtown Sharon. Mrs. Shaffer was of the Catholic faith and attended Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Charles Shaffer, whom she married in November 1984, is deceased. Surviving are: a daughter, Cheryl Bruno, Reading; a son, John Shaffer and his wife Kathy, Hermitage; a sister-in-law, Anne Mary Gamble, New Wilmington; a brother, Robert Christiansen, Linesville; and four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters and one brother.
