Rosemarie Esposito St. Joseph's member worked at Sharon schools A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday for Rosemarie Esposito, State Towers, 632 E. State St., Sharon. She passed away peacefully at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, in her home of natural causes. She was 81. Rosemarie was born March 27, 1921, in Farrell to Alfonso Vasile and Mary Rocco Vasile. She attended Farrell area schools and was employed for several years in the Janitorial Department of Sharon City School District. A homemaker, Rosemarie was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon. She enjoyed music, especially Italian and polka. Surviving are: one daughter, Donna Jean King and her husband John, Athens, Ala.; two sisters., Stella Cipriano and her husband, Andrew, Hermitage; and Ann Chapin, Lake St. Clair, Md.; one brother, Richard Vasile and his wife Christine, Masury; and a grandson, Ronald King. She was preceded in death by her parents. ESPOSITO Harold Beggs Retired farmer was active in McQuiston Center A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Harold Beggs, Trinity Living Center, Grove City, formerly of Sandy Lake, died in the nursing home at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002. He was 93. Mr. Beggs was born April 11, 1909, in Polk, Pa., to Elmer and Elizabeth Hutchinson Beggs. He attended Vogan School, a one-room schoolhouse in Sandy Lake Township and was a lifetime farmer. Mr. Beggs was also active at the McQuiston Center in Sandy Lake. He was of the Protestant faith and served in the National Guard. Mr. Beggs married Florence Hoffman on Nov. 14, 1947, who preceded him in death. He is survived by: two daughters, Connie Bell, Pittsburgh; and Brenda Snyder, Polk; one grandson, Derek Bell; and a friend, Ruth Piel, Sandy Lake. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William H., John S., Clarence J., Rowan E. and Homer W. Beggs; and two sisters, Alice S. James and Mary E. Osborne.
BEGGS LeRoy W. 'Chiz' Chisholm Central Christian member was Westinghouse retiree LeRoy W. "Chiz" Chisholm of 1660 Kimberly Road in Sharon, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning (12-8-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following complications of pneumonia. He was 84. Mr. Chisholm was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Stoneboro, a son of George C. and Minnie Patterson Chisholm. A 1936 graduate of Sharon High School, he had been employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. as a machine operator for more than 41 years, retiring in 1978. As a longtime and active member of Central Christian Church in Hermitage, he served as an elder for 40 years; was a past member of the administrative board; a Sunday school teacher; and a member of the Anniversary Class as well as the New Covenant Class. He also belonged to Free and Accepted Masons Sharon Lodge 250, now Kedron Lodge 389, West Middlesex; American Legion Post 160, Farrell; and Sharon Westinghouse Retirees. He was also a life member of AFL-CIO Local 617 of Electrical Workers; and was a past president of Contact Penn-Ohio. Mr. Chisholm was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, the former Marian L. Fleming, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1940, at home. He also leaves a daughter, Liane M. Chisholm of Butler. Mr. Chisholm was preceded in death by three brothers, Rexford, Jack and George Chisholm; and two sisters, Geraldine Lytle and Elizabeth Wilson. CHISHOLM Elinor L. 'Tillie' Moore Elinor L. "Tillie" Moore, Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, formerly of Sharpsville, died at 10:19 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2002, in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 79. Obituary information was incomplete.
MOORE Margaret Jane 'Jennie' Nicklin Pine Township homemaker was Tower Presby member Margaret Jane "Jennie" Thompson Nicklin, a resident since 1934 of 211 Nicklin Road, Pine Township, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township. She was 91. Mrs. Nicklin was born Sept. 25, 1911, in Pardoe, Findley Township, to Wilis Thompson and Kate Filer Thompson. A homemaker, she was a member of Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City. Mrs. Nicklin was also a charter member of Hemlock Grange and currently belonged to the Millbrook Grange. She enjoyed crocheting and loved her children and her grandchildren. Her husband, John B. Nicklin, whom she married on June 12, 1934, died May 23, 1982. Surviving are: her children, Joann, wife of Frank G. Biggs, Carlton, Pa.; and John L. Nicklin, Grove City; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband., Mrs. Nicklin was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Frederick "Fritz" Thompson; and three sisters, Lillie Knauff, Bessie Hodge and Blanche Mattocks.
NICKLIN Alice Morocco Farrell homemaker was Lady of Fatima member Alice Morocco, 414 Indiana Ave., Farrell, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 86. Mrs. Morocco was born May 1, 1916, in Farrell to Angelo Grande and Arcangelina Ricciardi Grande. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Farrell. Her husband, Joseph Morocco, whom she married on Jan. 28, 1939, died on April 6, 1989. Surviving are: four sons and a daughter-in-law, Carmen and Virginia Morocco, Hubbard; Gerald Morocco, Joseph Morocco and Michael Morocco, all Farrell; two grandchildren, Gerald Morocco Jr. and Gina Marie Morocco; a sister, Nancy Dillon; and a brother, George Grande, both Farrell. Besides her husband, Mrs. Morocco was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers, Frank, Mike, Michael, Sam, Bates, Joe, Albert and Anthony Grande; and three sisters, Armalinda Morocco, Mary Grande and Mary Grande.

Boneta 'Bonnie' R. McDeavitt Spencer Grace United Methodist member was WWII veteran Boneta "Bonnie" R. McDeavitt Spencer, a resident since 1970 of 491 N. Liberty Road, Liberty Township, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, following a three-year illness. She was 82. Mrs. Spencer was born Aug. 1, 1920, in West Liberty, Butler County, to Bert R. McDeavitt and Meda Wimer McDeavitt. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School Class of 1938, for which she was the valedictorian. She was employed as a home seamstress for the former Palmer Smith Linen Co., Grove City. She was formerly employed by Sears; the former Slim Wells Grocery Store; and Bell Telephone Co., all in Grove City, the latter for which she was a telephone operator. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City. As a veteran of World War II, Mrs. Spencer served as a teletype operator in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) of the U.S. Army. Her husband, Jack W. Spencer, whom she married on March 29, 1947, survives at home. Also surviving are: three children, Pamela Finney, wife of Jim, Mount Vernon, Ohio; Denise Agricola, wife of Donald, Prairieville, La.; and Stephen E. Spencer, husband of Monica, Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Lois Greenway, Butler; and Rita Jacobs, wife of Kenneth, Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a brother, Richard McDeavitt, husband of Monica, Elizabethtown, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Isabel McDeavitt, Grove City; one granddaughter, three grandsons and two great-grandsons. Besides her husband, Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Burton R. "Bud" McDeavitt, who died in 1997.
