Ann B. Agosti
New Deal Club member belonged to St. Anthony's

Ann B. Agosti, 1023 March St., Sharon, died at 6:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, in her residence after an extended illness. She was 78.

Mrs. Agosti was born April 10, 1924, in Seanor, Pa., to Mahlon Blough and Sadie Lohr Blough.

She attended Blairsville High School and Beauty School and was a beautician working out of her home.

During World War II, Mrs. Agosti worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. and at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Sharon and New Deal Club of Farrell.

Mrs. Agosti was an avid bingo player and liked to visit her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and liked to go on trips with senior citizens.

Her husband, Raymond Agosti, whom she married Sept. 18, 1948, survives at home.

Also surviving are: one daughter, Renee Clesi and her husband Michael, Jasper, Ind.; one son, Gary and his wife Ellen, Pittsford, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Tricia Rzepkowski, Chicago; Matthew and Adam Agosti, Pittsford; and Brian Clesi and Dawn Schuler, Indianapolis, Ind.; and three great-grandchildren, Alisha and Brice Clesi; and Mason Rzepkowski.

Mrs. Agosti was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Mahlon Blough.

Edna 'Eddie' M. Parker

South Py woman had run

businesses, showed horses

Edna "Eddie" M. Parker, 6266 Lakeside Drive, South Pymatuning Township, passed away at 9:09 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84.

Mrs. Parker was born May 31, 1918, in the family farm home in Farmdale, Ohio, a daughter of Wallace E. Howk and Mary B. Hanson Howk.

As a young girl, Eddie and her family moved to Warren, Ohio, where she was a 1937 alumna of Warren G. Harding High School. Following her marriage, she moved to her current address March 1, 1939.

Having worked for nearly 20 years for the former Packard Electric Corp. in Warren, Eddie and her husband co-owned and operated the former Par Mar Sand Inc. at their farm until the Shenango Reservoir was built. They also operated a Christmas tree farm for many years.

An equestrian enthusiast, she and her husband owned show horses and were well-known during the 1940s and 1950s for showing horses in numerous shows, earning a number of awards and ribbons.

A very vibrant individual, Eddie enjoyed dancing as a child and later spending time at her home on the reservoir with family and friends. There she and her husband enjoyed boating and water skiing. She also loved traveling by car throughout the United States.

Eddie will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who loved her dearly.

Her husband, Paul Parker, whom she married Sept. 2, 1938, passed away Dec. 17, 1985.

Surviving are: one sister-in-law, Edith "Edie" Patterson, Fredonia; five nieces and nephews, Pat Graber, Alfred Knight, Terry McClellan, Janet Christein and Mary Jane Sklenicka; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" Knight and Mary Jeanette McClellan; and three brothers, Herbert Howk, Robert "Bob" Howk and Alfred Howk.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 19 Jefferson Ave., Sharon 16146; or Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, 12 E. Ninth St., Suite 304, Erie 16501.

Mary Ellen Berisky

'55 Sharon grad was groups member, lived in Wheatland

Mary Ellen Berisky, 20 Lincoln Ave., Wheatland, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 64.

Mrs. Berisky was born Jan. 27, 1938, in New Kensington, Pa., to Lawrence Easley and Mary Ann Fritch Easley.

She was a 1955 graduate of Sharon High School.

She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage; the American Legion Auxiliary; Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; and the Slovak Club.

Her husband, John Berisky, whom she married in 1961, died in 1989.

Surviving are: three children, Mrs. Samuel (Cathy) Mirkovich, Hermitage; and Mrs. Ron (Karen) Fraley; and John L. Berisky, both Wheatland; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Catherine) Bauer, Sharon; and Mrs. Jack (Helen) Burnett, Hubbard; and six grandchildren, Nicholas Berisky; Michael and Lauren Mirkovich; and Amanda, Ryan and Jeremy Fraley.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James D. Berisky, who died in 1999; and a brother, Lawrence "Duke" Easley.

Essie E. Nunamaker

Woman formerly lived

in West Middlesex, Sharon

Essie E. Nunamaker of Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, formerly of West Middlesex, Sharon and Rimersburg, Pa., passed away at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, following a brief illness. She was 96.

Mrs. Nunamaker was born April 23, 1906, in Kissinger Mills, Clarion County, and was a daughter of the late Oscar Lewis Forringer and Hulda Rankin Forringer.

She was of the Protestant faith and had attended Upper Hillville School in Clarion County.

Mrs. Nunamaker married Albert Carl Adams on Oct. 18, 1921, in Oakland, Md. He preceded her in death May 14, 1944. She then married Paul S. Nunamaker in November 1947 in Kittanning, Pa. He died in August 1958.

Surviving are: three sons, Walker L. Adams and his wife Frances; and Robert E. Adams and his wife Lois, all West Middlesex; and William C. Adams and his wife Pearly, Volant; one daughter, E. Ruth Jordan and her husband Gene, Rimersburg; 33 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and her first and second husbands were a son, Richard E. Adams, who died July 18, 1996; and four daughters, Marion Adams, April 22, 1922; Mary Lou Conner, June 22, 1995; Louella Troup, October 1985; and Doris Troup, November 1999; one brother, Richard L. Forringer; three half brothers, Al, Russell and Brainard Conner; and one half sister, Daisy Conner.

James D. Riley

Fla. man, WWII vet worked at Werner, Sharon Tube

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- James D. Riley of Port Charlotte, formerly of Jamestown and Sharon area, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, in his home. He was 81.

Mr. Riley was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Greenville to Maurice H. Riley and Frances E. Dyke Riley.

He graduated in 1939 from St. Michael's School in Greenville and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1941. He served for 45 months in the Pacific theater during World War II, being discharged in 1945. Mr. Riley is a charter and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3374, Hempfield Township.

Mr. Riley was employed at Werner Co., Sugar Grove Township, for 25 years and was a member of the International Association of Machinists. He then worked for Sharon Tube Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1986.

He retired to Nocatee, Fla., with his wife, the former Dorothy Sankey, whom he married Nov. 15, 1944.

In 1996, they relocated to Port Charlotte.

Surviving besides his widow are: three sons and one daughter, J. Dennis Riley and his wife Mary, Greenville, S.C.; C. Lewis Riley and his wife Sandy, Transfer; and Michael Riley and his wife Beverly, Jamestown; and Edith "Edie" Kuykendall and her husband Robert, Greenville. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Besides his parents, preceding him in death were two brothers, Eugene Riley, Greenville; and Edward Riley, Anniston, Ala.; and two sisters, Rita Ringler, West Salisbury, Pa.; and Marcella Eastlick, Ford City, Pa.

Interment service will be held at a later date in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.


Sophie Z. Saribalas
Farrell church member

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A funeral service will be held Thursday for Sophie Z. Saribalas, Columbus, formerly of Brookfield. She died at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in Whetstone Care Center after an extended illness. She was 72.

Miss Saribalas was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Farrell to Michael G. Saribalas and Zoe Chrisanthe Saribalas.

She graduated from Farrell High School in 1948 and worked for Delphi Packard Electric Systems as an assembler for 25 years. She retired in 1998.

Miss Saribalas was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Farrell, where she belonged to the Philoptohos Society.

She enjoyed reading books and especially being with her family and friends. She was a very caring person and was loved dearly.

Surviving are: two sisters, Mary and her husband Pat Fleming, Columbus; and Theresa and her husband Thomas Andrews, Cleveland; one brother, Dr. George and his wife Jeanette Saribalas, Columbus; three nieces, Patti Fleming, Karen Nichols and Joy Mangini; two nephews, Dr. Michael Saribalas and Mark Fleming; five grandnieces, Christine, Mary and Katie Foster; and Marisa and Melina Mangini; and two grandnephews, Christopher Nichols Jr. and George Saribalas.

Miss Saribalas was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Paulson was born March 1, 1899, in Farsund, Norway.

She attended schools in Norway, and, after coming to the United States in 1914, went to a beauty academy.

Mrs. Paulson owned and operated a hair salon from her home.

She was a member of a former area church, where she sang in the choir.

A lover of music, Mrs. Paulson played piano and gave piano lessons.

Her husband, Kristian Paulson, whom she married in 1926, died in 1938.

Surviving are: a son, Gerald Paulson, Ypsilanti, Mich.; and a sister, Gudney Storey, Bedminster, N.J.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Paulson was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Christian Roy Paulson; and three sisters and three brothers.

Belva J. Fulford
Masury woman belonged to First Baptist in Sharon

Belva J. Fulford of 8055 Addison Road SE, Masury, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday (1-6-03) in Orange Village Care Center, Masury. She was 85.

Mrs. Fulford was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Sharon, a daughter of Frank and Myra Frazier Mohney.

She was a salesperson for more than 20 years at the former Montgomery Ward Co. at the Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio.

Her memberships included First Baptist Church in Sharon. She enjoyed sewing, ballroom dancing, traveling and being with her family and friends.

Her husband, William J. Fulford, died in 1977.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Mary Louise) Malkin, Burghill; one sister, Clara McClearn, Hermitage; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Fulford was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William M. Fulford; and a sister, Erma Covington.
