Summer reading events scheduled for area library
"Readers 2000 -- Masters of the Millennium" summer reading program is running through July 21 at Mercer Area Library, 143 N. Pitt St.
The following events are set for 10 to 11 a.m. They are:
June 20 -- Movie Day. "Animal Numbers" combines music, nature and learning.
June 27 -- "Storyteller." Denise Kellerman, of Barnes and Noble Bookstore, presenter.
July 11 -- Magic Show with Devin Knight.
July 18 -- "Rubber Stamping Fun."
The following events are also planned:
July 6, 1 p.m. -- "Crafting Fun" with materials for elementary-age children to create artwork. Registration: 662-4233.
July 12, 6:30 p.m. -- "Family Night." Shirley Spiegel, storyteller, for all ages.
July 21, 1 p.m. -- Storyteller Vonnie-Kaye Brough, Ellwood City, will share stories and activities.
July 26, 5 p.m. -- Readers 2000 family picnic at Mercer County 4-H Park. Certificates and prizes will be awarded.
