Today's obituaries Madeline ‘Maddie’ E. Anderson Grove City woman belonged to Beloved Disciple church Madeline "Maddie" E. Anderson, 130 Grant St., Grove City, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday (6-14-00) in Buchanan Commons, Grove City, following a four-month illness. She was 72. Miss Anderson was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Shinston, W.Va., to William Howard and Florence W. Lundell Anderson. She was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City, and its Rosary Altar Society. Surviving are: two sisters, Edith Fuechslin, Chester, Va.; and Leona Jane Ringeisen, Hampton Township, Allegheny County; two brothers, Clark R. "Dick," Mercer; and George E., Sebastian, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, William H.
ANDERSON George E. ‘Kibby’ Dann Ohio man married former Sharon woman YOUNGSTOWN -- George E. "Kibby" Dann, 627 Sanderson Ave., Campbell, Ohio, died Wednesday morning (6-14-00) in St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was 87. Mr. Dann was born Feb. 19, 1913, in Campbell to Tomasso and Giovanna Campana DiIanni. He retired in July 1979 after 15 years as a custodian for Campbell Memorial High School. Mr. Dann also worked for 19 years at Cold Metal Products, Campbell. A 1930 alumnus of Campbell Memorial, he served in the Naval Air Reserves as a first-class petty officer from July 1942 to October 1945, earning an honorable service button. Mr. Dann also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934-37. He was a lifelong Campbell resident, where he belonged to St. Joseph the Provider Church and its Holy Name Men’s Society. Mr. Dann was a member of the Italian-American Political Club, serving as secretary; Campbell (schools) Boosters Club, serving as treasurer; and OAPSE Chapter 141, serving as secretary and past president, all Campbell; and Mahoning Valley Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni Chapter 57. He also belonged to American Association of Retired Persons; and School Employees Retirement Organization (SERO). For more than 17 years, Mr. Dann was a coach and league statistician for Campbell Little League. Surviving are: his wife, the former Geraldine Ruth Locke, formerly of Sharon, whom he married March 29, 1969; three daughters, Loretta Soroka, Boardman, Ohio; Georgia E. Neel, Jasper, Ga.; and Ernestine Kovach, Howland, Ohio; a brother, Anthony, Campbell; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brayer and Elvira.
DANN Aurel Dragos Jr. Ind. man, formerly of Sharon, had sister living in Hermitage LaPORTE, Ind. -- Aurel Dragos Jr., 120 Niles Ave., LaPorte, formerly of Chicago and Sharon, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday (6-15-00) in LaPorte Hospital. He was 84. Mr. Dragos was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Burr Oak, Ill., to Aurel and Silvia Moldovan Dragos Sr. He retired as a cement mason with Local 692 of OP & CMIA, union of cement masons, Area 438. An Army veteran, he served in the Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Dragos was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Michigan City, Ind.; and Fraternal Organization Transylvania Libera. He moved from Chicago to LaPorte in May 1952. His wife, the former Eula Mae Loser, whom he married May 20, 1944 in Sharon, died March 18, 1994. Surviving are: three daughters, Laurelle Dragos LeGault, Wheeling, Ill.; Helen Fritz, Skillman, N.J.; and Rayna Ellis, Rolling Prairie, Ind.; two sons, Brian and Steven, both LaPorte; a sister, Sylvia Muntean, Hermitage; a brother, John, Lexington, Ky.; and seven grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Basarabescu; and two brothers, Michael, and an infant, Michael. DRAGOS Michael Fencyk Michael Fencyk, 8151 Ohio St. SE, Masury, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (6-15-00) in the home of his son, Masury, under the care of hospice. He was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
FENCYK Lillian S. Gensko Good Shepherd member lived in Shenango Township Lillian S. Gensko, 2260 Mercer-Middlesex Road, Shenango Township, died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday (6-15-00) in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, following a lengthy illness. She was 80. Mrs. Gensko was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Farrell to William J. and Mary Peto Morris. She worked for 10 years as an assembler for Delphi Packard Electric Systems, Warren, Ohio; and later was a cashier for five years at the former Bish Golden Dawn, West Middlesex. Mrs. Gensko also owned and operated a beauty shop for two years out of her home. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex. Her first husband, George Eves, whom she married Feb. 6, 1939, is deceased. Her second husband, Paul George Gensko, whom she married Aug. 10, 1942, died Nov. 11, 1991. Surviving are: a daughter-in-law and caretaker, Connie Eves, Mercer; two sons, Paul, Farrell; and John, Sharon; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Eves; and a daughter, Debbie Lee Gensko. GENSKO Frederick E. Jones PennDOT retiree was active in Jamestown Lions Club Frederick E. Jones, 605 Liberty St., Jamestown, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday (6-14-00) in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was 63. Mr. Jones was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Greenville to Evan James and Lucile Bentley Jones. He retired as an inspector for PennDOT. An Air Force veteran, Mr. Jones served for 11 years as a staff sergeant and tail gunner. As a 34-year member of James-town Lions Club, he had a 100 percent attendance record and served in various leadership positions including president, 1975; zone chairman, 1972; regional chairman, 1973; secretary, 1977-81; and treasurer since 1988. Mr. Jones earned the Lion of the Year Award in 1985 and 1992 and the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 1994. He also was chairman of french fry and boat committees. Mr. Jones belonged to James-town Presbyterian Church; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5424, James-town; and was a 14-year member of Jamestown Fire Department. Surviving are: his wife, the former Martha Ann Keck, whom he married June 22, 1963; three sons, Daniel E., David E. and Daryl E., all Jamestown; a sister, Mrs. Albert "Dick" (Marilyn) Urey, California; two brothers, Dannis, Florida; and Daryl, California; two granddaughters; and five grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Lions Club, 208 Scipio St. Jamestown 16134.
