A Brookfield bar was the flash point for a pair of stabbings this weekend, though neither incident took place within the tavern on U.S. Route 62.

Paul W. Bodien, 20, of 122 First Ave., Sharon, allegedly attacked Justin D. Ulan of Lackawannock Township with a knife, at 12:54 a.m. Saturday, Brookfield police said.

Police said Bodien attacked Ulan after he saw the other man with a girl earlier in the evening at the Gray Wolf Tavern. Bodien came up behind Ulan and stabbed him several times in the left shoulder blade, police said.

Bodien cut himself in the forearm during the attack, police said.

Bodien was arrested by Sharon police at 1:37 a.m. Saturday at 239 Second Ave. and charged by Brookfield police with felonious assault.

In the second incident, Bradley J. Gera, 39, Youngstown, allegedly stabbed Victor Schuster, 24, of 1870 Pine Hollow Blvd., Hermitage, on South Irvine Avenue in Sharon following a fight at the Brookfield bar, police said.

After they argued at the bar, police said Gera left and Schus-ter and his friends followed him to a home in the 700 block of South Irvine, police said.

They said Gera came out of the house with a knife and stabbed Schuster twice -- once in his forearm and once in the chest.

Gera was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at 734 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon, on charges of criminal attempt at homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person, police said.

Schuster, Bodien and Ulan were all treated at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, a hospital spokesperson said.

Gera and Bodien were both arraigned before District Justice James E. McMahon, Sharon, and were taken to Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond.
