Buhl Day art show winners announced

The following winners were named in the Buhl Day Art Exhibit held by Valley Arts Guild in Sharon:

  • Best of show -- James O’Malley, Youngstown, for "Fraser’s Super Duper."

  • Professional fine arts -- Chandler Beatty of West Middlesex, "Antique Reflections," first place; Dominic Nicastro of Niles, Ohio, "Autumn in Ohio," second; and Kim Rajee of Sharon, "Never Use Words in Art," third.

  • Amateur fine arts -- Mary Anne English of Sharon, "Ashtabula Life," first place; June Snyder of Sharon, "A Bridge Over a Bridge," second; and Milly Chako of Hermitage, "Sky 1," third.

  • Photography -- Ms. Rajee, "Sibling Rivalry," first place; Jill Richards of Sandy Lake, "Samburu Dancers," second; and Linda Mercadante of Sharon, "Turtle," third.

    Kimberly Koller-Jones, executive director of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle, was judge. Kaufmann’s department store sponsored the show.
