SANDY LAKE

Borough gets 2 new councilmen

Sandy Lake Council has two new council members in as many months. In fact, in his first evening of voting as a council member, Dan Hemminger joined in unanimously appointing Brad Martin, Sandy Lake, to fill another vacancy created by the resignation of Councilman Glenn Leech.

Council accepted Leech's resignation, effective Thursday.

Hemminger was appointed at the September meeting to fill the unexpired term of Carol Paul who resigned because she was leaving the area. Martin had also applied for that vacancy.

Hemminger and Martin will each serve for the balance of 2000 and all of 2001 to fulfill the unexpired terms created by the resignations of Ms. Paul and Leech.
