Drive-in filled with things that go bump

Lock your car door, douse your headlights and hang on for dear life -- Reynolds Drive-In has been taken over by goblins.

For the entire month of October, the Pymatuning Township drive-in theater will be haunted and crawling with ghoulish creatures while bone-tingling flicks play on the screen.

Lisa Gibson, manager of the drive-in, said its owner, Rod Loomis, president of Loomco International, came up with the idea.

"There is no better combination than scary movies shown at a haunted drive-in during the Halloween season to create a spectacular fright night extravaganza ... it's definitely not for the weak spirited," Loomis said in a press release.

Patrons will drive through a maze from the entrance to the back of the drive-in, where several scary scenes are set up, Mrs. Gibson said. Patrons can then park and watch the scary movies scheduled for that night. In between the two features, ghosts, goblins, monsters and even insane clowns will run around the drive-in to further terrify the customers.

Mrs. Gibson said the drive-in recruited high school students and Loomco International employees to play the ghouls. Steve Kollenette, a Loomco employee, built the sets.

The drive-in will show "Scream" and "The Shining" the first weekend, and "Carrie" and "The Rage: Carrie 2" the second weekend. Features for the remainder of the month possibly include "The Exorcist," "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th," Mrs. Gibson said.

Gates open at 7 p.m. and the first movie starts at about 7:30 p.m., Mrs. Gibson said. The cost is $20 a carload, or $10 for adults and $5 for students 5 to 12 years old.

The drive-in will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 29 with special hours on Oct. 30 and 31, Mrs. Gibson said.
