Russian pastor renews friendship, to speak here

A friendship through missions work that started in Russia is continuing in Mercer County.

Joyce Titus, 675 Clay Furnace Road, Clark, met Pastor Yura Stadnik a few years ago while she served as a short-term missionary for a year in Khabarovsk, Russia. He and his wife Zhenna and two children, Nikita and Nadia, are visiting Mrs. Titus through Nov. 7, when he will leave for a national conference on children at risk in Smyrna, Ga., Nov. 9-11.

A young pastor of a small but growing church, his congregation ministers to people who live on the outskirts of a huge dump outside of town. The church prepares more than 300 meals each week for the poor.

While here, Pastor Stadnik will speak locally in church services and other meetings. His local schedule, to which the public is welcome:

  • 9:30 a.m. Sunday school and 11 a.m. worship service in Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, 96 Charles St.

  • 7 p.m. Tuesday at Crossing Paths Prayer Meeting and Bible Study, 670 Dutch Lane, Hermitage.

  • 7 p.m. Wednesday Community Service in Clark Trinity.

  • 7 p.m. Thursday in Barnstone Ministries, New Bedford.

  • 8 a.m. Nov. 4 men’s prayer breakfast in Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, Pymatuning Township, (call 962-4222).

  • 10:30 a.m. Nov. 5 worship service in Lakeside.

  • 9 a.m. Nov. 6 women’s prayer group at Brass Lantern restaurant, Route 18, Transfer.

    Rev. Jack Stevenson, a local retired Methodist pastor who is active in mission work in Russia, will speak at the workshop in Georgia.
