World Community Day brings diverse Christian women together in prayer and action. "Standing Up with Those in Need" is the theme.
Church Women United will gather for brunch at 10:30 a.m. in Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage. Worship will follow at noon.
Greenville Council of Church Women will sponsor a service at 1 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 73 Clinton St., Greenville.
In Hermitage, Angie Merchant, a case manager for the AIDS service program from Family Planning in Sharon, will be guest speaker.
An ecumenical action project also will be included. Participants are asked to bring completed health kits with them. Completed kids will be sent to Church World Service to be distributed to wartime refugees or those dealing with natural disasters.
Tickets will be available from the Key Women.
In Greenville, the Rev. Bret Metcalfe, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Greenville, will give a presentation on mission trips to the southern African country of Lesotho.
Paper products will be collected.
