SUGAR GROVE TOWNSHIP

Mother, daughter hurt in crash

An Adamsville woman was in fair condition this morning in a Pittsburgh hospital after the car she was driving slid into a bridge abutment at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sugar Grove Township.

The woman, Diane Peterson, 34, and her daughter, 13-year-old Nikki Peterson, both of Adamsville Road, were flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Nikki’s condition was unknown, a hospital spokesman said this morning.

Hempfield Township police said Mrs. Peterson lost control of the car on a wet Groover Road.

Both occupants were pinned in the car, police said, adding it took rescue workers an hour to free the girl.
