FARRELL

Council holds line on taxes

Farrell City residents won’t be facing any tax increases in 2001.

Farrell council approved on second readings ordinances for the 2001 general, sewer, revolving loan, liquid fuels and capital improvement funds budgets, tax rate and employee salaries and wage rates.

The $1,973,542 general fund budget includes no increase in taxes or fees.

The city has decided not to replace retired firefighter Andrew Androsko, instead covering his shifts with part-timers. City Manager LaVon Saternow left open the option of hiring another full-timer in the future. The fire department has three full-timers.
