SHARON

Man on run caught in nearby residence

A Farrell man running from Sharon police barricaded himself inside a home with two children at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Sharon police said.

When responding to a domestic dispute involving Theodore W. Williams, 34, of 1001 Federal St., police said, they saw him run from 340 Sterling Ave. into another building.

Williams broke into an apartment and locked himself inside with two children, police said. Police said Williams scared the children’s mother and she ran out.

Police said they broke into the apartment within a few minutes to arrest Williams.

During the arrest, police said, Williams fought with them and kicked the windows of the cruiser. He was taken to the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, where he was treated for a strained foot, police said.

Williams was charged with burglary, resisting arrest, simple assault and criminal mischief, police said. While breaking into the apartment, Williams damaged a window, a fan and a television, police said.
