Bradley to seek re-election for fifth term as mayor
Clark Mayor Douglas C. Bradley announced Tuesday he will seek re-election this year.
Bradley has served the borough for 24 years, eight years as a council member and 16 years as mayor. He said his years of service have enhanced his and his family’s lives and have been rewarding.
"It has been a pleasure working with the past and present council members, professional staff, volunteers and employees," Bradley said. "The borough is fortunate to have dedicated individuals to give of their time and expertise to the community."
Bradley listed borough accomplishments in the past 24 years, including a land use and zoning update, continued housing and population growth, steady property taxes at 29 mills over the last eight years, installation of a sewer system that serves more than 80 percent of borough homes, opening Woodlawn Drive between Nora Street and Winner Road, improvements to the fire department, merging the police department to create Jefferson-Clark Police Department, a street paving program that will eventually pave all the streets in the borough and starting the first phase of a six-phase park improvement program.
"The elected officials will face many challenges in the future as the borough begins to grow and prosper," Bradley said. "I am committed to making our community a better place to live and want to have a part in the future growth of the borough."
