Hoffman seeks re-election to city council

Another city councilman has announced he will run for re-election in the 2001 race.

Fred Hoffman, 57, of 994 Bechtol Ave., is the principal of West Hill Elementary, Sharon. Hoffman, who is council president, is finishing his second term on city council.

"I am very interested in the city and our efforts to improve the city and its financial condition," Hoffman said. "Over the past seven to eight years, working with the mayor (Robert T. Price), other council members and department heads, we have made major improvements in all city departments."

Hoffman said "major street and infrastructure improvements" have also been made over the years.

Hoffman is a member of Mercer County Regional Council of Governments, the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board, the Police Pension Board and the Sharon Recreational Study Board.

"If re-elected, I would like to continue our efforts in making Sharon a very livable city," Hoffman said.

Councilman George Gulla is also running for re-election in 2001.
