1 bumped car, 2 misses lead to DUI arrest
A Cortland, Ohio, man faces drunken driving charges from two police departments after his vehicle rear-ended a car Thursday afternoon and left the scene, Hempfield Township police said.
A vehicle driven by Frank Mellon, 26, bumped into a car as he left the Wal-Mart plaza, police said.
When the driver got out to check for damage, telling Mel-lon to slow down, Mellon swore and gestured at him, then drove around him, al-most hitting another car and turning in front of a third car, police said.
The driver of the first car thought Mellon seemed in-toxicated and was driving er-ratically so he used his cell phone to alert police, they said.
Mellon was pulled over by Greenville-West Salem Town-ship police at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday on Main Street near a former video store in the borough, police said.
He was charged Thursday with drunken driving, driving under suspension and driving without insurance by Green-ville-West Salem police and charged Friday by Hempfield Township police with reckless driving, drunken driving and driving without insurance, police said.
He was taken to Mercer County Jail after being ar-raigned by District Justice William L. Fagley, Green-ville.
