SHENANGO VALLEY

Car break-in charges added to list

Southwest Mercer County Regional police said they have added unrelated charges against a Hermitage man who led them on a two-state chase earlier this week.

John Reeher II, 33, of 102 Todd Ave., was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief in connection with a car break-in in Wheatland, police said.

Between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday, Reeher broke the window of a Sharon woman’s car parked at 21 Broadway Ave., police said. He took coins, 23 cassettes, a center console, a cellular telephone, lip balm, a lighter and three packs of condoms, police said.

Some of the items were on him when he was arrested Monday, police said.

Reeher was spotted Monday morning in Brookfield in a car that had been reported stolen from Sharon, police said.

Brookfield police followed Reeher into Pulaski and Shenango Township, police said.

Reeher drove through woods off Habarka Road, Shenango, and ran from the car when a tire went flat, police said.

Reeher was arrested at 9:12 a.m. at 650 Broadway, Farrell, three hours after being spotted in Brookfield, police said.

Reeher already faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia for having a drug inhalant device on him when he was arrested, police said.

Brookfield police charged him with receiving stolen property, fleeing police and unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said.

Reeher will not be arraigned on the latest charges until his preliminary hearing on the drug paraphernalia charge. He remains in Mercer County Jail on a parole detainer and $3,000 bond.
