Lutheran church to install pastor
The Rev. Nancie Reeves will be installed at 4 p.m. Sunday as pastor of the 800-member Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), 3325 Morefield Road
The Rev. Brian Moran, Conference III dean of Meadville, will conduct the installation.
Rev. Reeves, now of Hermitage, succeeds the late Rev. Carole L. Mohr, who died in 1999 while serving as the church’s pastor. Rev. Reeves and her husband, Gary, have three grown daughters.
Rev. Reeves began her pastoral duties in early February at Holy Trinity. She is making plans for church growth in numbers and volunteer involvement. Programs include the "Pastor’s Parlor Gatherings," which she recently instituted. There is a Koffee Klatch at 10:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays; bimonthly Book Review Bunch meetings at 11 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays; and two Introduction to the New Testament classes.
The alumna of St. Edward’s University in Austin, with a bachelor’s degree in theology, graduated in 1997 from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, Calif., with a master of divinity degree. She specialized in preaching, pastoral care and church growth.
Before coming to Hermitage, Rev. Reeves served as an associate pastor in Erie. She was pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Tulsa, Okla.; served her internship at Trinity Lutheran Church, Orange, Texas; and was the seminarian in residence at Ascension Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas.
