Crash injures 2, knocks power out

A car sheared off a power pole Saturday on North Keel Ridge Road near Mt. Hickory Road in Hermitage, sending two women to the hospital and leaving much of the area without power.

Hermitage police did not release the names of the driver or her passenger. Their conditions weren’t known Saturday night.

Between 6:40 and 6:45 p.m. the car veered off the sharp edge of the road and bounced through several yards before hitting the power pole, which fell on top of the car, said Mark Egelsky, who lives at 920 N. Keel Ridge Road and saw the crash.

"She was going off the road just bouncing. We could see big clouds of dust," said Todd Moyer of West Salem Township, who was at Egelsky’s house for a picnic.
