Grand jury indicts man for burglary

A New Wilmington man who was a passenger in a car involved in a two-state chase that ended with a three-car crash April 13 in Wheatland has been indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury on charges of burglary and theft.
Joshua Yost, 20, formerly of Sharon, will be arraigned on the charges next week.
The indictment alleges that Yost participated in breaking into a home at 5765 Bradley-Brownlee Road, Vernon Township, and stealing a television, tables, videocassette recorders, jewelry and other items.
Yost was the lookout for Matthew Henry, 21, of 545 Dutch Lane, Hermitage, who went inside the house, according to testimony from Sharon police Capt. Michael J. Menster at Yost's preliminary hearing on Southwest Mercer County Regional police charges.
Both men loaded items into the car, Menster said Yost told him.
Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Shawn O'Brien said he wasn't sure if Henry had been indicted.
"If he hasn't, he will be," he said.
A neighbor spotted the men coming out of the house and called police. A sheriff's deputy pursued the pair -- Henry was driving -- and other police departments joined in.
The chase reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, police said.
The rented Buick sideswiped cars in Hermitage before smashing into two cars at Broadway and Mercer avenues, police said.
Henry pleaded guilty in August in Mercer County Common Pleas Court to receiving stolen property. Charges of conspiracy and fleeing police were withdrawn. He also was cited for several traffic violations.
He is in Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond.
Yost is awaiting resolution of charges of receiving stolen property and theft. He was released from jail after posting $25,000 bond.
