Health fair features Miss America 1999Miss America 1999 Nicole Johnson will be featured speaker at Sharon Regional Health System's Diabetes Symposium and Health Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Radisson Hotel of Sharon, Shenango Township.
Dr. Andrew Behnke, a Sharon Regional endocrinologist, also will speak.
Ms. Johnson, who has diabetes, will be available for a signing of her new book "Living With Diabetes" at 3 p.m. Friday in Jerry Stigliano's BookSource, Hermitage.
She has served for two years as a national spokeswoman for American Diabetes Association, MiniMed Inc., Eli Lily and Co., Joslin Diabetes Center's High Hopes Fund for Kids with Diabetes.
The evening also will include displays by Animas, MiniMed, Lifescan, BD, Keystone Blind Association, GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol Myers Squibb, Takeda, Aventis, Bayer, Therasense Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Disetronic, Norvartis Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer and Medi-Sense.
