Center sets January activities
Shenango Valley Multi-Service Center in Wheatland-Farrell United Methodist Church, 75 Mercer Ave., Wheatland, has announced January activities.
On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, help will be offered with tax, rent rebates and PACE forms. Reservations are required. Other January activities include:
Jan. 8 -- 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings by Rural Metro Ambulance personnel; 11:30 a.m., center council meeting.
Jan. 10 -- 11 a.m., consumer update by Nancy Loughry of Mercer County Community Action Agency.
Jan. 15 -- 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings.
Jan. 17 -- 11 a.m., January birthday party with vocal music by Tim McCall.
Jan. 21 -- Center closed for Martin Luther King Day.
Jan. 22 -- 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings.
Jan. 28 -- 9:30 a.m., blood pressure screenings by nurse Emmagene Williams.
A daily activity is a puzzle. Others include:
Mondays -- 9:30 a.m., music therapy with Judy Christ; 9:30 a.m., Trotters; and 11:15 a.m., choral group.
Tuesdays -- 9:30 a.m., balance exercise class with Corie of the Personal Fitness Center of Sharon Regional Health System; 10:30 a.m., discussion group; and 10:45 a.m., sing-along.
Wednesdays -- 9:30 a.m., Lucky; and 10:30 a.m., Tai Chi Qigong with Nick Gracecin.
Thursdays -- 9:30 a.m., Plato.
Fridays -- 9:30 a.m., Lucky; and 11:30 a.m., gentle exercise.
Transit information: 981-6222. Upcoming events include a bus trip to "Disney on Ice" in Pittsburgh in February.
The center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is served weekdays.
