Two Farrell people accused of selling drugs to undercover policemen in the city will face charges in four cases each in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Marlena M. Benson, also known as Marlena M. Summers, 46, of 1023 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, was charged by state police with three counts of delivery of crack cocaine and three counts of possession of crack, and by Southwest Mercer County Regional police with delivery of cocaine and two counts of conspiracy to commit delivery of crack.

Anthony W. Kitt, 36, of 904 Wallis Ave., was charged by state police with one count of possession of crack with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of crack, and two counts each of conspiracy to commit possession of crack with intent to deliver and delivery of crack.

Police said Kitt sold a rock of crack cocaine for $20 at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 19 at Fruit Avenue and Union Street, an hour later in the 100 block of Wallis, and 5:10 p.m. Sept. 20 at Wallis and Union.

He also set up a sale by Tanya M. Winston, 24, of 905 Spearman Ave., Farrell, at 7:19 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 100 block of Wallis, police said.

Ms. Winston was arrested Oct. 26 on state police charges of possession of crack, possession of crack with intent to deliver and conspiracy, and Southwest Mercer County Regional police added a charge of possession of crack with intent to deliver for having the drug on her at the time of her arrest, police said.

While the state police charges were withdrawn at her preliminary hearing, the Southwest charges were held for court by District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, and she has been arraigned on them before Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Dobson.

Ms. Benson sold $20 worth of crack at 5:35 p.m. Oct. 17 at Hamilton and Idaho Street; $120 in crack at 6:45 p.m. March 8 at home; $20 worth of crack at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 600 block of Idaho; and $40 worth of crack at 6:20 p.m. Oct. 3 at Idaho and Hamilton, police said.

Russo held all charges against Kitt and Ms. Benson for court Jan. 4.

Kitt was released on his own recognizance. Ms. Benson was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $10,000 bond.
