Nominate humanitarian for awardShenango Valley Foundation is accepting nominations for the sixth annual Humanitarian Award, which honors one or more people who capture the essence of charity and selflessness through extraordinary acts of kindness and caring for those less fortunate.
Nominations must include a statement describing the nominee and his or her achievements, the writer's relationship to the nominee and letters of reference from people familiar with the nominee's charitable work.
The nominee must be a resident of the Shenango Valley area.
The winner will be selected by the foundation board and honored at the Shoe Our Children benefit March 13.
A $5,000 donation will be made to the charity of the winner's choice.
Nominations can be mailed or delivered to the foundation at 41 Chestnut St., Sharon 16146, by Feb. 11.
