COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP

Conservation District taking seedling orders

The Mercer County Conservation District is sponsoring their annual tree seedling sale.

This year the agency is taking orders for Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, White Flowering Dogwood, Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Canadian Hemlock and White Pine as well as Concolor Fir, which is a new offering, according to Jim Mondok, manager.

The seedlings are sold in bundles of ten each species at $5 a bundle. Or you can order 50 seedlings, all the same species or assorted, at a cost of $20. Pennsylvania state sales tax is not included in the price.

The agency will be taking orders and prepayment through April 5, Mondock said.

To order or for more information, call (724) 662-2242. Customers will be notified by mail for pickup in time for spring planting in April.

Proceeds from this sale help to support the education programs held at the Munnell Run Farm, Coolspring Township.
