Linda Marie Joyce Krafft
Slippery Rock woman taught in Grove City schools Linda Marie Joyce Krafft, 109 Kelly Blvd., Slippery Rock, died at 8 a.m. Friday (1-25-02) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was 46. Mrs. Krafft was born April 4, 1955, in Sharon, to John Brannon and Mary Louise Scott Joyce. A 1973 alumna of Sharpsville High School, Mrs. Krafft was a graduate of Edinboro University and received her master's of education from Slippery Rock University. She was employed by the Grove City Area School District for 10 years in the Special Education gifted program. Mrs. Krafft was a Catholic. She loved spending time with nieces and nephews, loved traveling, gardening, watching the game show Jeopardy, loved sunny days and she liked quiet conversation. Surviving are: her husband at home, Ed M. Krafft, whom she married April 16, 1987; her mother, Mary Louise Joyce Craine and her husband Bernard, Greenville; two sisters, Judith Ann Beistel and her husband Gary, North Versailles, Pa.; Cathy Joyce, White Oak, Pa.; and one brother, Scott Joseph Joyce and his wife Kim, Clark. She was preceded in death by her father, who died May 3, 1981.
KRAFT Matilda Mary 'Tillie' Chikosky Former violinist had been active in organizations Matilda Mary "Tillie" Chikosky, 554 Fairfield Drive, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 10:47 p.m. Friday (1-25-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 86. She was born Jan. 5, 1916 in Cleveland to Chester Stanley and Mary Kwiatkowski Kraute. Mrs. Chikosky was a 1935 alumna of Farrell High School. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, and was formerly a member of St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. Mrs. Chikosky was a long-time member and past president from 1980 to 1981 of the Women's Club, Sharon. She was also a former assistant Girl Scout leader and East Hill chairwoman for the Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council, a member of the John XXIII Home Auxiliary and the Polish National Alliance and was a former committee woman in Farrell. Prior to her marriage, she was a violinist with many area groups, including the Charlie Koss Orchestra and the Barb McGill Combo. She also performed with her father, Chester Kraute, and her uncle, Alexander Niemczyk. Mrs. Chikosky was an avid gardener, an active club woman and a lifelong lover of beautiful music. She was a wonderful mother devoted to her family and a very doting grandmother. Her husband, Mathew John Chikosky, whom she married May 10, 1941 in St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell, preceded her in death on May 22, 1998. Surviving are: two daughters, Marcia A. Chikosky, Sharpsville; Marilyn Hamay and her husband Bob, McDonald, Pa.; one son, Matthew A. Chikosky and his wife Karen, Hermitage; and one granddaughter, Ashley Chikosky. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward C. Kraute.
