GREENVILLE

Man tells police of attack in alley

Several men assaulted a West Salem Township man at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in Swamp Alley in Greenville, said Greenville-West Salem Township police.

The 48-year-old was walking down the alley and crossing Canal Street when he overheard a man arguing with a small child in a stroller, police said. Both men exchanged words and the West Salem Township man continued walking down the alley, police said.

The man with two or three others then assaulted the West Salem Township man, knocking him to the ground and kicking him repeatedly, police said.

Police said they did not known if the man sought treatment at the hospital. Nothing was stolen from the man, police said.

The man did not know his alleged assailants, police said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
