SHARON

Phone woes being fixed

Sharon School District and a company it hired to install phone service have come to an agreement regarding the work that needs to be completed and the quality of it, said Business Manager James Wolf.

District officials and regional managers from Third Generation of Bethel Park, Pa., met to discuss problems the district is having with the company's service, Wolf said.

Wolf told the school board Jan. 16 that the company, which used to be called Applied Digital Inc., was sold and changed personnel over the holidays. After the change the service declined, he said.

Third Generation officials agreed to abide by the contract that included some specifications they weren't aware of, Wolf said.

Since the meeting Wednesday, Third Generation contractors have begun to correct problems and are "putting their full effort into doing what needs to be done," Wolf said.

"They promised to fulfill the contract to the specifications. We're moving forward," he said.

There is no additional cost to the district, Wolf said.
