Brookfield police looking for pair of purse snatchers

The following is this week's Mercer County Crime Solvers case:

  • Crime: Robbery and theft.

  • Details: Two women were approached by two men Nov. 18 in a parking lot in the 500 block of Brookfield Avenue in Masury. One of the men grabbed a purse from one of the women and the pair drove off in a black, four-door vehicle that the victims described as "beat up." The purse was later found at Giant Eagle in Hermitage.

    Both men were black. One was about 6 feet 2 inches tall and was wearing an orange stocking cap. The other man was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and was wearing a dark-colored hat.

  • Call: Crime Solvers at (724) 347-HELP, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Callers can remain anonymous. Anyone with information can also call Brookfield police at (330) 448-6960.

  • Reward: Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization which offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in the Mercer County area.
