HERMITAGE

Challenger to enter race for Robbins' Senate seat

Democrat Kyle Klaric of Hermitage said he plans to officially launch his campaign for state Senate at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Premier Hydraulics, 10 Fruit Ave., Farrell.

Klaric is running for the 50th District seat currently held by Republican state Sen. Robert D. "Bob" Robbins of Salem Township.

Under reapportionment legislation passed recently in Harrisburg, the 50th District includes all of Mercer and Crawford counties and parts of Lawrence and Butler counties. For the past decade, the district has included a portion of Erie County but none of Lawrence or Butler counties.

Klaric is president and chief executive officer of Premier Hydraulics and Klaric Forge & Machine in Crawford County.

Klaric encouraged the public to attend his campaign announcement.

Democratic state Sens. Robert J. Mellow and Allen G. Kukovich will be on hand for the announcement, Klaric said. Mellow is the Senate minority leader, while Kukovich is running for lieutenant governor.
